Camosun International makes commitment to enhancing the student experience

The entire Camosun International (CI) team has become WorldHost certified after completing the course work and attending two full days of training. Camosun College’s new sexual violence and misconduct policy approved by board

Camosun College’s new Sexual Violence and Misconduct Policy has received unanimous approval by the college’s Board of Governors.

The new policy is now in effect with information on support services and resources for students available online: camosun.ca/sexual-violence. The dedicated website provides resources to assist those who need support and those who may give support to anyone who may disclose a sexual violence or misconduct incident.

Camosun receives funding for applied research and tech innovation

Camosun College has received two substantial grants to support applied research and business innovation from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s (NSERC) College and Community Innovation Program, which expands the capacity of Canadian colleges to work with local businesses to develop new and innovative technologies.

Student-athletes, coaches and supporters of the Camosun College Chargers gathered to recognize the achievements of the College's student-athletes at Camosun's 20th Annual Athletic Awards Ceremony, Thursday, April 10th at the Harbour Towers Hotel. Fourth-year outside hitter Michelle Zygmunt of the Camosun Chargers women’s volleyball program team earned the prestigious President’s Cup for her outstanding academic and athletic achievements over the 2016-17 season.

Camosun grad Alexander Relf has been recognized as one of the province’s top 30 business people under the age of 30 by BCBusiness. Relf graduated from Camosun’s Hospitality Management program in 2009 and co-founded an Australian-style meat pie business, Peaked Pies, in Whistler.

Camosun opens new satellite training centre

Camosun College has increased its regional presence with the opening of the Camosun Coastal Centre. Formerly known as IMTARC (Industry Marine Training and Applied Research Centre), the satellite site is located on Songhees Nation Territory near the Esquimalt Graving Dock. The 4,000 square foot training building sits on leased land and was built in 2013.
