Now that you've been accepted into a program at Camosun, here is a quick snapshot of things you need to know as a Camosun student.

Important Dates

As you proceed through the academic year, there are some important dates you'll want to be aware of. On the website, you can find details about:

Online Services: Camlink

Your student record is available online on Camlink. You can add or drop courses, check your place on a waitlist, review your fees, order a transcript, update your address and more.

When you log in to Camlink for the first time, your password is your birthdate, entered as MMDDYY.

Adding Courses

You can add a course on Camlink until the drop deadline of the term.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the prerequisites and/or corequisites for your courses. If you don't, you must drop the course or consult the Department Chair to determine if you can enrol in the course for this intake only. If granted the Chair will complete a Prerequisite Waiver for you to submit to Registration.

Not sure of what courses to take? Check Course Selection – Credit Course Registration or contact an Academic Advisor.

Waitlist Procedures

The waitlist opens on the first day of registration and closes on the add/drop deadline. Once the course is full, the waitlist is activated.

If you are first on the waitlist when a seat becomes available, you will be notified through your email account. Registration is not automatic. You will have a 24-hour period to register, which will be noted in the email. If you don't register during the 24-hour period, you will be removed from the waitlist.

Dropping Courses

You can use Camlink to drop a course until the drop/tuition refund deadline.

After the tuition refund deadline, all course drops must be done in person at Registration. No course refunds will be issued.

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees and student levies are due after the start of the term. Check Deadlines; Fees, Drop & Tuition Refund for the term due dates you're attending.

To determine your total fees per semester, see Step #6 under the Fee and Payment Details heading in the Student Menu on Camlink. This screen will provide you with a breakdown of your tuition per course, plus applicable Student Society fees and levies.

Fee payment options

Note We do not accept credit cards for paying domestic tuition (except for Continuing Education (CE) classes).

Late Payments

A late payment fee is applied to accounts with outstanding balances after the fee deadline. A restriction to all Camosun services will be placed on your student file until full payment is received. The late payment fee is assessed as follows:

Amount Owing Late Payment Fee
Less than $50 None
$50 to $499 $50
Greater than $500 $100

Student Photo ID

The Student Photo ID card has multiple uses. It is your bus pass (U-Pass), library card, Audio/Visual borrowing card, access card for designated computer labs, and your ID card for the use of recreation facilities and programs, and after-hours entrance to campus buildings. It can even be used to get discount services at local merchants and restaurants.

You can get your Photo ID card one week before your first class, by visiting either campus library. You will need to bring official identification.

Student Benefits Plan

If you are enrolled in nine or more class hours per week, you'll be required to participate in the Camosun College Student Society (CCSS) Student Benefits Plan.

Opt-out Process

If you currently have extended health and/or dental coverage, you may choose to opt-out of the CCSS plan. Deadlines apply.

Contact the Student Benefits office for more information.

Textbooks & Course Materials

The Bookstore offers new, used, rental and digital textbooks, as well as school supplies, snacks, a great selection of Camosun logo gear and locker rentals.

Textbooks and course materials are available at the bookstore on the campus where your course is located. You can also order your books and materials online with direct shipping or on-campus pickup.

Transportation & Parking

There are many sustainable and cost-effective ways to get to Camosun. Public transportation, bicycle and carpooling to campus are all viable options that reduce parking congestion and help the environment. During the fall and winter terms, there is also a free shuttle service between campuses.

Parking is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and parking spaces cannot be guaranteed or reserved.

Money for College

You may need to find more than one source of funding to help pay for your education and living costs while attending college. Check out sources of money you don't need to pay back as well as those that need to be repaid.

Contact the Financial Aid & Awards office at either campus.

The Registration department manages program invitations and registration. We provide information about Camosun services, policies and procedures, and post-secondary education options to help you have the best college experience.
