From welders to nurses, accountants to engineering technologists, Camosun College helps transform lives to build a better community; a better future.

Located in picturesque Victoria, British Columbia, Camosun is situated on the traditional territories of the Lkwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. The college adopted the name “Camosun,” a Lkwungen word meaning “where different waters meet and are transformed,” when it welcomed its first students in 1971.

Today our two vibrant campuses, Lansdowne and Interurban, attract 18,000 learners each year including over 1,000 Aboriginal students from 50 Nations, and more than 1,100 International students from 60 different countries.

Students can choose from 160 different certificate, diploma, bachelor degree and continuing education programs, and our emphasis on teaching excellence and applied programming is second to none. Labs, internships or on-the-job co-op education – over 70 per cent of all programs include a hands-on, practical component. Through experiential learning, Camosun students observe real ways of how to approach problems, think critically and respond to the fast-paced demands of the dynamic workplace and the changing world around them.

Camosun’s impact as a college also extends well beyond our highly skilled, job-ready graduates. Camosun was recently named one of the top 50 research colleges in Canada. With over 500 faculty experts, we provide exceptional applied research, innovation and product prototyping services for industry. We also offer contract training opportunities for local businesses and well-trained co-op students for employers.

With over 900 employees and a budget of over $114 million, Camosun is one of our community’s top 10 employers and generates close to $1 billion in economic impact in our province every year.
