Local farmers and producers will have the opportunity to sell their goods as well as highlight how they are contributing to a more sustainable future.

Camosun golfers caught in the rough at UBCO Invitational

Week two of PACWEST competition caught the Camosun men's golf team in the rough as newcomer squad members ironed out their first time game jitters while the team fought to a fifth place finish shooting a tournament total of 622 at the UBCO Invitational at the Okanagan Golf and Country Club, September 15-16.

Starting in 1974, Ken Steacy--Camosun instructor and co-founder of Camosun’s Comics & Graphic Novels program--earned acclaim as a professional comic book author, illustrator, art director, editor and publisher, chronicling the stories of Spider-Man, Harry Potter, Astro Boy and the characters from the Star Wars universe. His latest project, “War Bears” is a unique collaboration with legendary Canadian author Margaret Atwood.

Making It: Fine Furniture grad Nathan Holder combines entrepreneurship with a passion for design

Camosun hosts welding summer camp for middle and high school students

Camosun College's Interurban campus will be the site of Mind Over Metal from August 13-17, a week-long welding summer camp for students ages 12 to 15. Offered in partnership with the CWB Welding Foundation, the camp is free for attendees and is funded by the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation in conjunction with Seaspan.

Making It--Camosun College celebrates 30 years of fine furniture

For 30 years, the fine furniture program at Camosun College has been a place for students to explore their art through woodworking and joinery.

Some 500 graduates have gone on to careers in the industry across the Island and Lower Mainland, and in recognition of those achievements the college will exhibit the design work of 30 students at the University of Victoria’s Legacy Gallery, now on until Sept. 22.

Roshaan Ganief's business MokaJade Designs features lovingly-crafted and stylish wood products for the home and the office. "The only thing I don't make is furniture," she says "but I'm a fine woodworker and in my business I basically make lots of things that people haven't seen before, such as women's jewelry, men's accessories and magnet boards all out of wood."

Camosun student honoured as National Co-op Student of the Year

Camosun Business Co-op student Robin Stone received dual honours this year as she was selected as both the National College Co-op Student of the Year and the Provincial (BC/Yukon) College Co-op Student of the Year for 2017. This is the 11th year in a row a Camosun student has been named the provincial co-op student of the year.

Camosun AET Clinic hosts neurovisual specialist

On June 12, Camosun's Athletic & Exercise Therapy (AET) Clinic hosted Dr. Cameron McCrodan, a North American specialist in neurovisual performance, who talked about vision and how it can impact concussion recovery.

Camosun sheet metal student wins bronze at Skills Canada National Competition

Third year sheet metal apprentice Dean Gustin won a bronze medal at the 2018 Skills Canada National Competition in Edmonton, Alberta on June 4 and 5. After winning a gold medal at the Skills Canada British Columbia competition in April, Gustin had the opportunity to compete against apprentices from across the country in the Sheet Metal Work category.

Indigenous cultures celebrated at Royal Roads

Hundreds gathered on the shores of the Esquimalt Lagoon at Royal Roads University Thursday to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day on the traditional lands of the Xwesepsum (Esquimalt) and Lkwungen (Songhees) ancestors and families.
