Students at Camosun to benefit from philanthropy of local businessman

The Camosun College Foundation supports Camosun students in improving the lives of people in their community, and a recent donation will make it possible for students to help even more people. Knud Boelt, a Victoria-based businessman who passed away in 2017, has donated $1 million from his estate to the college.

The Camosun Chargers Men’s Volleyball team has twice had the honor of scrimmaging with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), CISM Men’s Volleyball Team this year. With a new Head Coach at the helm and a host of athletes from across the country who are serving for Canada (including some who are former USport and Professional players) the Canadian team is in the final stages of preparation for the 7th CISM Military World Games in Wuhan, China.

A Digital Earth that acts as a central nervous system for the surface of the entire planet is the focus of a presentation by Camosun College civil engineering instructor Perry Peterson to an international audience in Japan this week. Peterson, an instructor with the School of Trades and Technology at the college, is presenting his solutions for a Digital Earth to the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium in Yokohama, Japan.
