New Associate Dean of the School of Access

The college welcomes Sarah Loewen as the new Associate Dean of the School of Access. The selection committee was impressed by Sarah’s ability to facilitate the development of programs and courses that transcend traditional boundaries and barriers to formal education. “I believe partnership and collaboration are the keys to creating programs that effectively build community capacity,” says Loewen.
2010 Learner Achievement Award recipient—Billy Youlden

Billy Youlden, Camosun student and Literacy Victoria learner, was awarded the 2010 Learner Achievement Award at the annual Literacy Celebration dinner on June 16, 2010. Literacy Victoria, one of Camosun's Community Learning Partnerships, honoured the big strides Billy has made in her commitment to her own development.
Spring Graduation Ceremony—June 18, 2010

On a beautiful spring day, Camosun hosted a graduation ceremony at the Pacific Institue for Sport Excellence on the Interurban campus. Approximately 1700 grads, guests, faculty, and staff gathered to celebrate this important student milestone. For many of our Access students, this is a stepping stone to further educational programs at Camosun and beyond. For others, it is the final step before embarking on careers in our communities.

Camosun specializes in career training, and to get started in any career program, you’ll need certain admission requirements. Camosun offers all the upgrading you may need.
Upgrading courses prepare you for success in other college programs.
- College Prep (grade 11 & 12 equivalent) in biology, chemistry, English, math, physics
- English for Health Care Attendant
- English for Professional Cook and Math for Professional Cook
- English for Trades and Math for Trades (all trades except Electrical)
- Math for Trades (Electrical)
- Math 12 courses for University Transfer
