BUS 460 Field Trip to Life Space Gardens
Business students in the International Trade and Finance course (BUS 460) visited Life Space Gardens in Vancouver on Friday September 30th. Students in this course are working with both Life Space Gardens and students from Camosun’s international partner university, Technische Hochschule in Ingolstadt, Germany, to research market potential, possible partnerships, and international trade regulations to help Life Space bring their elegant, self-watering gardens to the German market. The company President, Wesley Hooper, gave us a tour of the production facility in North Vancouver and set out the objectives for this joint international project. Students greatly appreciated the opportunity to observe the production process and gain an in-depth understanding of the product line and its characteristics. The class also visited the Learning Garden developed by Life Space Gardens in partnership with Garden Works in Burnaby where the entire product line is displayed featuring a variety of organic vegetables and plants. The field trip was a great success and students are looking forward to working on this applied export project.
