Main intake periods are Fall and Winter. The Summer semester has limited course availability.

View Camosun programs and courses to build your learning plan. Please check the prerequisites for individual courses. Courses may not be available for all semesters. Each course will list the number of credits and hours per week.

Courses can also be viewed on myCamosun. Select “search for credit classes” and select the term you wish to study at Camosun (F=fall, W=winter, S=summer). If the term is not available, select the term from the previous year to use as a reference.

Courses listed as “restricted” on myCamosun are generally not open to exchange students.

Minimum/maximum courses per semester

You can take 3 to 6 courses, or 9 to 18 credits per semester.

Language proficiency requirement

If you are studying in an academic program, you must meet Camosun’s English proficiency requirements.

For students wanting to improve their English language level, we offer English Language Development (ELD) classes. Students enrolling in ELD will be required to write a Camosun English assessment test upon arrival.

Medical insurance

All inbound exchange students are automatically enrolled in guard.me insurance that covers medical services to address new and unexpected illnesses or injuries. The cost of the Guard.me insurance is $50/month or $200 for one semester (These fees are non-refundable). 

Students attending Camosun must apply for the BC Medical Services Plan (MSP) when they arrive in Canada if they are planning to stay in British Columbia for more than six months. Please apply for MSP as soon as you arrive in B.C. You cannot apply for MSP before you arrive.

Additional fees

  • Mandatory Student Society fees
    • $249.80/semester
    • Students studying for two semesters will need to pay an extra $286 at the start of their program for extended health and dental benefits (12 month coverage). Students can opt out of this plan if they provide sufficient proof of coverage approved by the Camosun College Student Society.
  • Textbooks: $700-$1,000/semester (varies based on course selection)
  • Course activity fees: Some courses have additional fees outside of the tuition amount. These fees are associated with additional costs for activities or for expert instructors and certifications for the courses. Incoming exchange students enrolling in these courses are required to pay these fees. View the list of courses with additional fees.

As an exchange student, you'll take courses at Camosun that will count as credit toward your program of study at your home institution. It's a great way to see the world while continuing to make progress in your studies. Camosun currently has exchange partnerships with schools worldwide.
