You can connect with your employment facilitator and learn about upcoming career events happening on and off campus through the career portal at Education that Works.

Medical insurance

International students are required to have medical insurance for the entire duration of their studies in Canada. Healthcare costs in Canada can be quite high and it is crucial that you are covered under a comprehensive insurance plan during your time here.

During the first three months, International students in Camosun College are enrolled in Guard.me that covers medical services to address new and unexpected illness or injury.

If students are planning to stay in British Columbia (BC) for more than six months, they are eligible for the BC Medical Services Plan (MSP) after three months living in the province.

In addition, the Camosun College Student Society (CCSS) offers an extended medical plan that covers portions of the cost of services that are not covered by the MSP, such as ambulance fee, vision care, dental care and prescription drugs.

If you already have BC Medical you can renew your BC Medical when you have a new Study Permit.

International Student Handbook

Get the help you need, when you need it! The CI Handbook is your guide to the services and supports available to you as a Camosun student, and information about living in Canada.
