In order to provide the key information, knowledge, skills and confidence required to support those who have experienced sexual violence or misconduct, and prevent this from occurring to others, we are developing educational offerings for employees and students.

Workshop description: 

Be More than a Bystander will break the silence surrounding gender-based violence by providing tools, language and practical ideas about how to be more than a bystander, how to speak up and how to communicate that sexualized- and gender-based violence and abuse is not acceptable.  

About JR LaRose: 

JR is a 2011 Grey Cup champion with the BC Lions CFL team and proud member of One Arrow First Nation. JR grew up in low incoming housing in Edmonton’s inner city, and his path to success has been a long and hard-fought journey. JR is a spokesperson for the Be More Than a Bystander campaign to bring awareness and to educate on the issue of violence against women.
