Award description

For the literacy learner who completes an English 02 level within 2 terms and demonstrates commitment, reveals developing independence in managing assignments, takes risks in learning and show curiosity and enthusiasm and demonstrates academic excellence. Victoria’s Orca Books has been a publisher of high quality, award-winning books for children and teens and reluctant readers of all ages. They established this award in 2012 to support literacy at Camosun College. 

Criteria

The student must demonstrate commitment, academic excellence and who advances equity, diversity and inclusion within and/or outside Camosun College through dedication and excellence or community outreach and activism. Preference given to a student who identifies as part of a minority group that could include ethnicity, ancestry, sexual orientation or gender identity.
