You will develop a foundation in leadership that prepares you for the strategic role HR professionals play in leading and influencing organizational performance. Applied learning experiences rooted in Human Resources principles are an integral component of this program.
Certificate, diploma or degree – it's your choice
Building on past success, the School of Business has made the pathway through the Business Administrative programs more flexible. There are now three credentials that allow you to progress from a certificate to a diploma to an applied degree and you can apply, exit and return at any stage.
If you already have a related diploma from Camosun or another institution, consider applying directly to the degree program, to begin your second or third year courses, depending on your previous education. Contact the Program Leader or Academic Advising for more information.

After Graduation
BBA Human Resource Management & Leadership Degree graduates are employed in private and public organizations as HR specialists or generalists. Assuming a variety of roles including that of HR advisors, managers, directors and supervisors.
Graduates who achieve an overall cumulative average of B- and have been a member of CPHR BC & Yukon continuously since registering in their second semester courses in the case of the Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration in HR Management & Leadership or in the 3rd year courses of the Bachelor of Business Administration in HR Management & Leadership, may apply for exemption from the National Knowledge Exam [NKE].

What to expect
The program consists of 40 courses which can be completed in approximately four years if taken on a full-time basis. Evening and daytime classes are held predominantly at the Interurban campus and the program can be taken on a part-time basis.
Year 1
In your first year, you’ll work through introductory–level courses in accounting, finance, management, and marketing. Exit the program now with a Business Administration certificate or continue on to Year 2.
Year 2
In your second year, you'll take courses in HR management foundations, leadership skills, and negotiations and contracts. Exit the program now with a business administration diploma or continue on to Year 3.
Year 3
In your third year, you'll continue your studies in human resource development, leading organizational change, and employee & labour relations.
Year 4
For your fourth year, you'll be taking courses in strategic HR management, employment law, and applied leadership.
Co-operative Education Option
Apply your classroom skills in the workplace and bring your workplace skills back to the classroom! When you engage in co-operative education, you get an early start on preparing for your career after graduation! You will have the opportunity to alternate between full-time studies and full-time paid work where you can bring your applied learning classroom to life.
To participate in Co-operative Education, prior to your first work term you will need to successfully complete
- Eight (8) first year courses, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (C+), and
- the Career Development-Workplace Preparation Skills (CDEV-WPS) course

Under Canadian Immigration Law, as an international student you are eligible to participate in co-operative education and you can legally work in Canada during specified work terms. Program participation requirements
- Many first year Business courses require Math as a prerequisite (e.g. “C” in Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11, MATH 073, MATH 077, MATH 137, or “C+” in MATH 072, MATH 075, or MATH 135). Students may enter this program without Math but please note, students must complete one of the Math courses as listed above or successfully complete Camosun’s Math assessment in or before their first semester of study.
