Camosun College is committed to the provision and development of quality learning experiences for students through the examination of the strengths, challenges, opportunities and accomplishments of Camosun's credentialed programs. The Quality Assurance Framework The Quality Assurance Framework is informed by the Program Quality Assurance policy and outlines in detail Camosun's wholistic and integrated approach to review and renewal, to continuous enhancement and improvement.Application of the Framework will assure quality, rigour and accountability for all credentialed program offerings new, and existing. Engagement with learners, graduates, community, employers and college personnel provides further assurance that the community Camosun serves is meaningfully involved in determining quality educational programming.Quality assurance measures described within the framework are transparent and timely; learners, faculty, administration, and program, internal, and external stakeholders are engaged in a collaborative and intentional process that informs the future direction of a program area. The quality assurance measures that guide new program development and program review processes are evidence informed, relying upon both qualitative and quantitative data to provide a fulsome and comprehensive view of an existing or prospective program. All programs or discipline clusters will undergo a thorough review on a 5 to 7 year cycle based on an established schedule that is reviewed yearly.CETL's Curriculum Development and Program Renewal (CDPR) team provide guidance and support to chairs and faculty throughout the self-study component of the program review process as described in the college's Framework. See the Guide to Self Study for Continuous Enhancement.Upon completion of the self-study, faculty will report out using a self-study report template. The self-study report will be provided to the external review committee convened as part of the quality assurance process.Quality Assurance Process Audit (QAPA)In 2019/20, Camosun underwent a Quality Assurance Process Audit. The Quality Assurance Process Audit (QAPA) is an external review process to ensure that public post-secondary institutions periodically conduct rigorous, ongoing program and institutional quality assessment. All B.C. public institutions participate in the QAPA once every seven years. In preparation for the audit Camosun submitted an Institutional Report and in March 2020, was issued a final report with recommendations by the external reviewing team. Questions?
