Award description

This gift recognizes an immigrant or refugee who has been working hard to learn English in any ELD course at Camosun College. 

This award is in memory of Naji Yazdi's parents, Mr. Rasoul Khodashenas Firouzabadi and Mrs. Aalamtaj Ahmadi, Founders of Dawn of Prosperity (صبح سعادت) Cultural and Educational Institution in 1969 at Tehran-Iran. "Goal, Perseverance and Success" was the motto of Dawn of Prosperity which inspired thousands of students to thrive, succeed and flourish.

Criteria

Student must:

  • have been enrolled in an Access program (Area of Study - select Upgrading & Preparatory) or an Access course (Academic Level - select Upgrading & Preparatory) for at least one semester during May 1–April 30.
  • submit an essay explaining their challenges in learning English, and how they have overcome those challenges.
