CFUW Victoria Indigenous Health Care Assistant Program Award

Award description

This award is for a student in good standing in the Health Care Assistant - Indigenous Certificate (HCA-I) program. 

Preference to women students. In the years that HCA-I is not offered, the award will be open to Indigenous students enrolled in the Health Care Assistant Program. Students will acquire the skills, knowledge and values needed to provide professional care to the elderly and those facing other health or illness challenges, and when available, focusing on Indigenous community and culture. Focusing on the elderly, students will learn how to provide care that promotes and maintains the physical, psychological and social well-being of the clients they will care for in their subsequent roles as Health Care Assistants. Preference to women students. if the program does not run that year it will then default to the HCA program.
