2015-2016 Season Recap

The Chargers women’s basketball squad made several outstanding achievements despite their sixth place finish in league play.

Team co-captain Kathryn Candell hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer against CBC on February 20 to put the game into overtime and secure the program’s 12th berth to the playoffs. Candell also became the first Chargers women’s basketball player to finish the season leading the conference in points per game.

Teammate and co-captain Kelly Young finished the season fifth in points per game and second in rebounds while third-year vet Rachael Bakker completed her intercollegiate career with Camosun with the second best shooting average in the league.

The Chargers will continue to build upon their successes as they head into the 2016-17 season.
