We understand that life can present unforeseen challenges, and we are committed to ensuring that these challenges don't become insurmountable roadblocks to a student's education.
Erasing Barriers to Education Fund
Established in 2020, this emergency bursary is open year-round and available to all students who face unexpected financial hardships or other difficulties that could disrupt their academic journey. It offers immediate support to help students continue their studies without interruption.
Since inception, the fund has supported over 500 students with food security, housing, fleeing domestic violence, mental health, medical bills, childcare, tuition, technology, textbooks, tools, and more. In 2022, over $50,000 was distributed to students throughout the year which would not have been possible without the generous support donated each year.
Stories of impact
Students' lives have been transformed through this fund thanks to the generous support from donors. From a single parent who can now afford childcare while pursuing her education, or the aspiring scientists who can now conduct vital research, and the determined individuals who refuse to let financial hardships define their futures.
