If you're eligible, a tuition & fee deferral will allow you to delay your payment deadline until approved funding is received. If you are approved, you still have to pay your tuition & fees, but at a later date. Deferrals must be approved prior to the Tuition & Fee Payment Deadline.
Tuition & Fee Deferrals
If you are an International student, speak to Camosun International to discuss fees and payment methods.
Students approved for a tuition & fee deferral will receive an email confirmation. Log in to your myCamosun account and check your notifications to confirm an active tuition & fee deferral exists.
It is important to know your tuition & fee payment deadline. Camosun College tuition & fees are payable on a term-by-term basis. Please see Important Dates & Fee Deadlines for details.
If you drop courses, decide not to attend classes, or become ineligible for funding, you are responsible for withdrawing from your courses and for any tuition & fees or penalties that may result. Refer to Camosun Fees and Financial Policies and Procedures for further information.

Other Funding - Tuition & Fee Deferral
If you are receiving another source of funding, such as Employment Insurance (EI) sponsorship, RRSP, RESP, external awards, you may request a tuition & fee deferral. To be eligible for a tuition & fee deferral, you must prove that you have sufficient and confirmed funding.
Proof of Funding MUST accompany all tuition & fee deferral requests and should include:
- Source of funding (RESP, RRSP, EI, external award or other)
- Student name
- Amount of funding available
Note: DO NOT include personal information, such as social insurance number and bank account numbers. Attachments providing reasons for non-payment or payment plan requests through this form are not considered proof of funding and will be denied.
Tuition & Fee Deferral Request
Other considerations
- You cannot defer tuition & fees that exceed the total amount of your funding, unless you pay the difference first.
- Camosun does not offer payment plans, such as paying tuition & fees over a period of time.
- Tuition & fee deferral requests are approved on a term-by-term basis. You must submit a new request form for each term.
- Tuition & fee deferral applications are processed in the order received and may take up to five business days to process.
- If you are approved for a tuition & fee deferral, you will receive an email notification confirming your delayed tuition & fee payment deadline. Log in to your myCamosun account and check your notifications to confirm an active tuition & fee deferral exists.
- If you are approved for a tuition & fee deferral, Camosun expects you to pay your tuition & fees within 5 days of your funding arriving and no later than two weeks after the start date of your course(s). Failure to pay by the deferred tuition & fee payment deadline may incur late fees and a restriction being placed on your student file.
- If your tuition & fee deferral request is denied, you must pay your tuition & fees by the payment deadline. Failure to do so may result in de-registration from your program and/or courses.
The following are not eligible for a tuition & fee deferral
- Outstanding tuition and/or fees in the previous term
- Apprentice students – Refer to Fees and Financial Polices and Procedures for Apprenticeship Tuition Fee Deadlines information.
