Mark Kunen

In 1970, I moved to Canada from the United States. Camosun College has been my place of work since 1978. I teach English and sometimes Math at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre and the Songhees Reserve, and I am glad to be doing so. I see every person as both an individual and part of a network of relationships. I believe that the knowledge and confidence students develop through education can ripple out in a good way from the students to their families and communities and even to future generations. The work matters, and so I try to be my best self in class and, while I am present with students, to regard them as the most important persons in my world.
