Free income tax e-filing services

Camosun students with a modest income & simple tax situation are eligible for this free service. Trained accounting students supervised by CPAs will e-file your return professionally & confidentially for free. 

 

Income levels

1 person - $35,000

2 people - $45,000

3 people - $47,500

4 people - $50,000

5 people - $52,000

More than 5 people - $52,500 + $2500 for each additional person

 

Eligible

No income, or income from the following sources:

  • Employment
  • Pension
  • Benefits (ie Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, disability insurance, employment insurance, and social assistance)
  • Registered Retirement Savings Plans
  • Scholarships, fellowships, bursaries or grants
  • Interest (under $1000)

 

Not eligible

  • Self-employment income or employment expenses (ie SkipTheDishes, DoorDash or UberEats)
  • Rental income or expenses
  • Interest income over $1000
  • Capital gains or losses
  • Bankruptcy in 2024
  • Deceased person
  • Foreign property (T1135)
  • Foreign income
