2016-2017 Season Recap

The Chargers men’s basketball team delivered their best finish in a decade this season, mirroring the program’s successful silver medal finish at Provincials and 8th place finish at Nationals in 2005-06. Seeded sixth going into the PACWEST Provincial Championships, the underdog Chargers battled their way past the #3 Langara Falcons and the #2 Quest Kermodes to the championship final where they would meet the undefeated VIU Mariners and seal their silver finish with a wildcard berth to Nationals. The experience at the CCAA Championship was an eye-opener for the Chargers who faced a new level of competition against the nation’s best and the team finished eighth overall. With a core of talented athletes and a refined perspective, the squad will continue striving towards being one of the top teams in the country.
