Nugwa’am Wayagila, ogwa. This name was given to me by my Whonnock family.  I am from the Tsimshian Nation on my mother’s side, and Nisga’a Nation on my father’s side. I also acknowledge my Irish and German Fee family who had raised me in the Okanagan.  I’ve been a grateful visitor on the W̱SÁNEĆ and Lkwungen territories for 22 years.

I began my journey at Camosun College as a student many years ago in the Indigenous Family Support Worker Program, and the Indigenous Studies Program.  I appreciate the gifts of self-discovery, and reclamation of my cultural identity that these programs supported in me. I value the growth within, and hope that my work will contribute to the same in current and future students.

I am excited to accept the position of Assistant to the Executive Director of IECC, to work with the wonderful staff, faculty, and leadership in Eyēʔ Sqȃ’lewen in support of Indigenous students.  I thank you for your welcome and offer my heartfelt love and gratitude for the opportunity to continue my professional growth in this meaningful workplace.
