Faculty/staff profile
Indigenous Counsellor
MA, RCC
Mi’kmaq
I am proud member of the Mi’kmaq Nation from the Membertou reserve in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I was born in Ottawa, Ontario and came to British Columbia in the early 1990’s.
I feel totally lucky to live with and raise my urban Indigenous family in the traditional territories of the Lkwungen and WSANEC peoples.
I value the beautiful diversity, resilience, and wisdom of all of our Indigenous communities as we come together to learn at Camosun College.
My goal is to be present for the Indigenous students at Camosun College and walk beside them as they take their educational journey. I practise relational, Indigenous psychology while blending a person centred approach with narrative and cognitive therapy.
I hope my 25 years of experience counselling in community helps students achieve their hopes, dreams and goals at school.
