How long has your restaurant been catering to the appetites of Victoria?
“For the last 15 years, Glo Restaurant + Lounge has been serving up a global menu with local flare and the local community in mind. We’re excited to participate in Camosun’s Food Affair. We currently employ 15 Camosun alumni in both front of the house and back of the house positions. Since opening in 2006, we have hired hundreds of Camosun graduates.”
What’s the best thing about your restaurant?
“Food brings people and cultures together. Our global menu reaches a broad customer base. We have a full gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan menu with dozens of options for those with dietary restrictions. Our amazing chefs create dishes from some of the simplest ingredients, pairing them with sauces, vegetables, proteins, and all coming together as a beautiful dish creating an unmatched experience. And, our Happy Hour is consistently voted one of the best in Victoria, along with our outdoor patio with its 180-degree waterfront view.”
How has Glo been resilient during the pandemic?
“To be part of the restaurant industry, you have to have true hospitality in your heart, wanting to take care of customers in both good and difficult times. You have to work with coworkers and customers who have different personalities. The restaurant industry is constantly changing, with technology and labour shortages, and operators that can adjust themselves swiftly tend to be more successful. Focusing on building guest loyalty is the key to ensuring success.”
What does Camosun mean to you?
“Camosun is an amazing school to begin a student’s career, I have the utmost confidence that all students who have attended Camosun have generally been amazing employees for our organization!”
