Public Service Announcement COVID-19

In the letter, Dr. Bonnie Henry advises that we continue to see lower risk in structured seated settings and given the “disproportionate adverse impacts of the pandemic on our young adults” we are urged to prioritize on-campus instruction. You can read a copy of the letter here.

The college continues to monitor the situation and take a public-health informed approach, including direction from the Provincial Health Officer, BC Government, Island Health and WorkSafeBC.

To continue to provide a safe campus environment, there are several steps we can all take:

1. Most importantly, get vaccinated.
2. Conduct a daily COVID-19 self-assessment and follow self-isolation requirements as appropriate.
3. Limit social activity.
4. Follow mask-wearing protocols.
5. Be kind, patient and respectful to each other.

The college’s recommendation on what employees and students should do when they need to self-isolate remains the same, including the voluntary notification process to OHS@camosun.ca to support monitoring on-campus exposure and potential outbreak management.

• Step 1 - Get a B.C. Personal Health Number (PHN); Call 1-833-838-2323 and one will be created for you.
• Step 2 - Upload your out-of-province proof of vaccination to the online form
