Campus flags to be flown at half-mast

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving British monarch and Canadian head of state, passed peacefully on Sept. 8, 2022.

Her reign spanned 70 years. With her death, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will lead the country in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms including Canada. Camosun College is following the protocol and process outlined by the Intergovernmental Government Relations Secretariat. Campus flags will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset immediately until sunset on the day of the memorial service in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

For those wishing to sign a condolence book, you can do so in these ways starting on Sept. 9:

  1. Online at www.protocol.gov.bc.ca
  2. In person at the Parliament Buildings and Government House in Victoria
