School of Arts and Science
Engaged, interdisciplinary learning.
What can happen when experts from 30 disciplines in 13 departments and 16 programs focus their interests and insights on one theme? Come and find out as the School of Arts and Science explores ideas related to Stonehenge, one of the world's most interesting enigmas.
Demonstrations and information booths will evaluate how the monument's stones may have been transported from hundreds of kilometres away, how the monument was used and how Stonehenge continues to be an intriguing starting point for thinking about symbols, social structures, pop culture and the media. Who was the Amesbury Archer, an individual buried at Stonehenge about 4300 years ago? How can we even evaluate questions like this for something so deep in the past? Why and how is Stonehenge relevant today?
