A student who has overcome significant personal challenges; (e.g. homelessness, addiction, etc.) or a student with developmental challenges (Down's Syndrome, etc.). Enrolled and in good standing in a School of Access program or course (either on a full or part time basis).
Lois M. Smith/Commonwealth Scholarship for Athletes
Awarded to a Centre for Sport & Exercise Education student who has represented Canada or their province by competing in a major international or national event.
Lyle Makosky Values and Ethics in Sport Fund
This national sport studies scholarship is intended to stimulate thoughtful examination of values-based and ethical sport.
Lynne Richards Memorial Award
This scholarship will recognize an ABE student(s) who demonstrates personal determination to succeed, achieves academic excellence and who plans to pursue post-secondary education.
M'Akola Housing Society Award
In the late 1990's, M'Akola Housing Society decided to establish an award that would support urban Indigenous people in their post-secondary endeavours. Since then this gift has helped many students. IECC was happy to take over administration of the award in 2008.
Marilyn B. Kan and John Y.H. Kan Fund
This annual award will go to an indigenous student attending Camosun College. This award will be given to an Indigenous student that has demonstrated a strong work ethic in their studies and has exceptional grades.
Marion Bryant Memorial Hospital Unit Clerk Award
This award is for a student in the Hospital Unit Clerk program who has a sincere concern for the welfare of others and shows a commitment to work as a Hospital Unit Clerk upon completion and willingness to support volunteer activities in the hospital environment.
