Science Rendezvous celebrates STEM exploration

Science Rendezvous, Canada's largest one-day STEM festival, is set to ignite curiosity and spark scientific inquiry in Victoria on May 13, 2023.

Camosun College and The University of Victoria partner once again to bring Science Rendezvous to Victoria – May 13, 2023!

Taking place at UVic and Camosun College, the free event invites science enthusiasts of all ages to indulge in captivating hands-on experiences and engage with world-renowned researchers.

Demonstrations and activities will be happening across Interurban Campus in the Technologies Building (TEC) and in the Alex & Jo Campbell Centre for Health and Wellness (CHW). Come discover “Ultrasound, Ultra-cool”, a live ultrasound demonstration and tours of Camosun College’s Teaching Clinic. Visitors can also analyze the human skeleton to determine who someone may have been and enjoy a range of civil engineering activities, including racing a boat, simulating an earthquake, or designing a housing development! For those interested in cryptography and puzzles, “Clock Arithmetic and Cyphers” will be a fun challenge, where participants will work with cypher-disks to encode and decode messages.

This year's theme is CREATE, and the festival promises to be a thrilling and interactive experience for everyone. Science Rendezvous Victoria, in partnership with UVic, Camosun, Ocean Networks Canada, Science Venture and Let’s Talk Science, will feature a range of activities designed to engage in science, technology, engineering and math.
