Camosun College is one of five colleges that now has a tentative agreement in place with CUPE.
The tentative agreement reached by the Post-Secondary Employers’ Association includes the main compensation items under the Province’s Shared Recovery Mandate. This tentative agreement will be combined with individual agreements at the local level that are yet to be negotiated.
The tentative agreement covers CUPE Local 2081 Support Staff – including some students – at Camosun College who provide services in administration, facilities and technical support, food and beverage, library support and teaching assistance, and marketing and communications.
The four other colleges are:
· College of New Caledonia & CUPE Local 4951 Support Staff.
· College of the Rockies & CUPE Local 2773 Support Staff.
· North Island College & CUPE Local 3479 Support Staff.
· Vancouver Island University & CUPE Local 1858 Support Staff.
The tentative agreement will not proceed to ratification until each institution has completed its local bargaining process, and details will be kept confidential to protect that process. The B.C. Government is expected to issue a high-level information bulletin in the coming days.
