Kayleigh started her business, Prismatic Creative Co., before she completed her Bachelor of Business Administration program in 2019, demonstrating drive, passion and the ability to create her own opportunities.

“I wasn’t able to do a co-op position while I was at Camosun because I was also working at a full-time permanent job,” says Kayleigh. “I started practicing my new marketing skills by taking on small business clients on the side while I was studying and working. I learned marketing skills in my classes, but I also learned how to market myself – which was very valuable as I started my own business.”

Once she graduated, Kayleigh dedicated herself to building Prismatic, growing to offer full-scale branding, web design and social media marketing for small business owners. She works with local businesses, non-profit organizations and government agencies.

In addition to her paid client work, Kayleigh gives back to the community by serving on the board of directors for local organizations and helping them develop websites and online presences. She has also volunteered for non-profits, including the Soroptimist International of Courtney.

“Congratulations Kayleigh on the passion and drive you bring to your community,” says Dr. Lane Trotter, president of Camosun College. “We are all impressed by your energy and your efforts to help businesses reach their full potential.”

Kayleigh continues to grow her business and make connections in her community, applying the hands-on experience and concrete skills she gained at Camosun.

“To the grads in the Class of ’24, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zones and discover new opportunities. I hope you get out to networking events, talk to people and connect with others who share your interests. Your classes at Camosun have offered practical skills and now it’s time to apply those skills in the world.”
