Things weren't easy for him at the beginning, but in the end it was a very rewarding journey.

“I chose Camosun College for its well-known Carpentry program and the fact that many of my friends and family have also attended Camosun,” says Jason.

“The program definitely built confidence within myself, which in turn changed the way I look at problem solving.”

Things weren’t easy for him at the beginning. “I struggled with time management and I didn’t have confidence in my math skills,” says Jason. “But I asked a lot of questions in class and to my classmates. I spent a lot of time on my own problem solving and trying my best to understand the concepts.”

But in the end, it was a very rewarding journey. “The best thing about my experience would be spending time in the shop doing hands-on projects with many other like-minded apprentices,” says Jason. “The program definitely built confidence within myself, which in turn changed the way I look at problem solving within the carpentry field.”
