Centre for Indigenous Education and Community Connections
Always in acknowledgement of the Lkwungen-speaking and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, I am a life-long visitor from across the Salish Sea, and raised in the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Tseil-Waututh, and Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) peoples. I am born to a Plains Cree mother (Kahkewistahaw FN), and to the Metis people of Qu’Appelle Valley on my father’s side. From my beginning as a student to Camosun College, I have been blessed to witness a richness of education journeys; certainly as an employee, I have watched incredible transformations being achieved, bettering the lives of our indigenous students and allies.
My role with Eyēʔ Sqȃ’lewen: the Centre for Indigenous Education & Community Connections (IECC) permits my strive to provide support our Indigenous students, Faculty and Support Staff in all tasks related to indigenous ways of being at Camosun College.
