Stephanie is an instructor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Camosun College. She is originally from Ontario, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Physics at Queen’s University. There, she was lucky to have the opportunity to spend a summer working with the SNOlab group on the PICASSO project, a search for dark matter particles. Stephanie moved to Victoria to do her Master’s degree in Physics at the University of Victoria, which she completed in 2013.

Her research was done in the Condensed Matter group, where she modeled noise detected by superconducting qubits used in Quantum Computing. Stephanie began teaching in both TA and lab instructor roles at Queen’s and UVic. Stephanie feels very fortunate to be teaching at Camosun, where she is able use a variety of teaching techniques to share her enthusiasm for Physics with students from many different backgrounds.
