Rob Thompson

Rob has been the Ombudsperson at Camosun College since March 2020.  Prior, he served as the Lakehead University Ombudsperson in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He originates from southern Ontario and completed a Master's in Conflict Resolution at the University of Bradford in England. Rob worked for many years with Peace Brigades International, a human rights NGO which impartially protects local human rights defenders in conflict zones. After completing a civil mediation program and mediating small claims court cases, he worked in Geneva as the Ombudsperson Support Officer at the International Organization for Migration, the UN migration agency. Rob is passionate about the outdoors and loves long-distance hiking.
