Carmen deGoey, Red Seal Construction Electrician, Field Safety Representative Class B, Certified Instructor, Department Chair of the Electrical Trades at Camosun College and proud mother of 2 young boys. Carmen’s career as an Electrician started in Campbell River BC in an Entry Level Training Program in 1997 and continued in Victoria BC where she completed her technical training at Camosun College and Red Seal Certification in 2001. Carmen joined the Electrical Trades teaching team at Camosun College in 2008 and started the Provincial Instructor Diploma program at Vancouver Community College at the same time, completing her Instructor diploma in 2010. After teaching in the apprenticeship program for 8 years, she stepped into the Electrical Department Chair position in early 2016. With over 25 years of combined educational and industry experience in commercial/residential wiring including; concrete high rise buildings, schools, hospitals and all aspects of installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment.
