Since 1997, I have taught English at Camosun College, and served as Chair from 2007-2013. Completing my MA and PhD at UVic, I specialise in narratology, feminist psychoanalytic literary theory, and 18th century/modernist writing. My thesis, Disembodied Voices in James Joyce's Ulysses, and dissertation, Relational Narrative Desire: Intersubjectivity and Transsubjectivity in Novels of H.D. and Virginia Woolf, present narratological models for analysing modernist, voice-centered novels. I was awarded the UVic Graduate Teacher Award of Excellence and a UVic Graduate Teaching Fellowship. I have taught at Red Deer College, Medicine Hat College, and UVic. I am an ISW facilitator, B.C. Chair Academy Leader, a group fitness instructor, and a mother. Maureen is currently working half-time as the English Placement Counsellor at the Camosun College Assessment Center on the Lansdowne campus.
