Red River Métis
Indigenous Education and Community Connections
Hey there, my name is Ande. I am Métis from the Red River. On my father’s side I am Métis, Irish, and French. On my mother’s side I am German, Scottish, Welsh, and English. I grew up on Treaty 6 Territory and the homeland of the Métis people. I have been a visitor on Lekwungen territory for almost a decade.
As an Indigenous Advisor, it is my great joy to guide individuals on their journey through their education and to see the beautiful evolution of their lives. Like many students here, I once struggled with my education but with the support of many amazing people I completed Grade 12 through an adult basic education program and moved on to an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology. Anything is possible!
Outside of advising the students here, I am an artist and aunty with a passion for personal and collective liberation. I live my life with the values of integrity, honesty, and playfulness.
Come in and say hi, anytime!
