There are many options for transferring on to further studies after completeing your Dental Hygiene Diploma at Camosun
Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene
Upon completion of the Dental Hygiene program you'll be eligible to apply to the University of British Columbia or the University of Alberta to complete the fourth and final year of the Bachelor of Dental Science (Dental Hygiene) program.
At this time the Degree in Dental Hygiene is not required for entry to dental hygiene practice. The Degree may be completed in one year (full-time) or up to 5 years (part-time) after graduation from a BC diploma program.
Bachelor of Health Science at TRU
The Bachelor of Health Science program is specifically designed to provide health care diploma graduates with the opportunity to gain academic recognition for their diploma towards a degree, as well as the opportunity to broaden their education and enhance their skills, knowledge and career options.
Transfer credit for the degree is earned through the partnership agreement between TRU and Camosun.
Upon proof of completion of the Dental Hygiene diploma (2 year program with program entry prerequisites), students may be eligible for a maximum of 90 credits. Students may earn extra academic credit for courses they have gained.
- Residency for this program is 15 credits of TRU-assessed coursework. The term "residency" refers to TRU distance or campus-based courses, select TRU-OL consortium partner courses or PLAR credits
