Leta Zaleski graduated from the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene program in 1994 and obtained a BC Provincial Instructor Diploma in 2010. In 2012 she completed the Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities program through the University of Washington, and Master of Education in Post-Secondary Educational Leadership in 2013 through Simon Fraser University. Leta is passionate for life-long learning focusing on issues related to oral and systemic health, access to care, and health promotion through interdisciplinary practice.
Leta has a broad and varied range of experience including clinical practice, dental public health, and professional service to the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia, British Columbia Dental Hygienists’ Association, National Dental Hygiene Certification Board, Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada, and American Dental Education Association. Leta’s journey as an educator began with the inception of the dental hygiene diploma program at the University of the Fraser Valley in 2006. She joined Camosun College on a full-time basis in 2017. Leta is firmly committed to the continuous development of dental hygiene education in both breadth and quality to meet the dynamic needs of an increasingly diverse population.
