The library is responsible for issuing Camosun ID.
You can pick up your new student ID card at either library location or renew your U-Pass at a self-serve kiosk up to one week before the start of your first class.
U-Pass kiosks are located on the 1st floor in the lobby of the Fisher building (Lansdowne) and the main floor of the Campus Centre (Interurban).
Camosun students, faculty and staff are issued a college identification card with a photograph. The ID card will be issued upon presentation of appropriate government issued photo identification such as:
- Driver’s licence
- BC Identification
- Canadian Citizenship Card
- Permanent Resident Card
- Secure Certificate of Indian Status
This is your official student or employee identification card as well as your library card, BC Transit UPass (registered students), and lab entry key (Interurban).
This card remains the property of Camosun College. The card is non-transferable and can only be used by the person named and pictured on the card.
New cards are issued at both campus libraries during library open hours, starting one week before your first class.
Bus Pass (U-Pass)
Your BC Transit bus pass—the U-Pass—must be validated each term. The earliest you can validate a card is one week before your first class. The U-Pass is then valid until the last day of the month of your classes or exams end. U-Passes that are active in December expire on January 12th.
Self-serve kiosks are the easiest and quickest way to update your U-Pass. Library staff can also update a U-Pass during library open hours. Kiosks are located on the 1st floor in the lobby of the Fisher building (Lansdowne) and the main floor of the Campus Centre (Interurban).
*Some programs are not eligible for the U-Pass. Contact your program for more information.
You must keep your card for one year. Report lost or stolen cards. A $15 fee is charged for lost or damaged cards.
Report fraudulent use of a card to library staff or College Safety.
To receive student discounts from participating businesses, you may need your student card and proof of registration (on paper or your smart phone).
