ID Cards

We are currently accepting requests for the Fall Semester only. Requests for the Winter semester will be accepted starting December 14th.

New and replacement student ID and U-Pass

Students must be registered (not waitlisted) in at least 1 credit course to get the student ID and U-Pass.

Complete the online form and submit your photo. Cards are available for pick-up the next business day.

If you have trouble logging into the system, connect with Information Technology Services by email, phone or online chat.

Step 1 - Review these photo requirements

  • Photo must contain a clear view of your entire face, head and shoulders
  • Face should be centred, with head and shoulders forward
  • Eyes must be open and glasses may be worn as long as the eyes are clearly visible
  • No filters, props or funny faces
  • Colour photos only
  • Background must be a blank wall of a solid light colour with no visible objects or people

Photos that do not adhere to these requirements will be rejected, and you will be asked to re-submit with a new photo.

Step 2 - Take your photo

  • Take several photos and choose the best one
  • Be appropriate and serious, it’s ok to smile
  • Check that the photo is not blurry, too dark, too light and no shadows or glare
  • Edit to crop only, do not use filters
  • Save your photo in jpeg format, 10 MB maximum

Step 3 - Submit your photo online and choose a pick-up location

  • Complete and submit the online form
  • Choose your pick up location
  • Cards are available for pick-up the next business day
  • Bring government issued photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport, BC ID, Status Card, etc.) to pick up your card

Returning Students - U-Pass Update

Students must be registered (not waitlisted) in at least 1 credit course to get a U-Pass.

For fall 2020 the college will issue a BC Transit sticker to affix to your existing ID card. This sticker will allow you to use the buses at no charge.

  • Complete and submit the online form
  • Choose your pick up location
  • Stickers are available the next business day
  • Bring your Camosun ID card
  • You will be asked to affix the new sticker to your ID card at the time of pick up

Opt-out criteria

All students are automatically assessed the U-Pass fee. Under specific circumstances a student may be eligible to opt-out of the U-Pass. The Student Society manages opt-out requests. Contact upass@camosunstudent.org for more information.

About Your Identification cards

This card remains the property of Camosun College.  The card is non-transferable and can only be used by the person named and pictured on the card.

Your BC Transit bus pass—the U-Pass—must be validated each term.

Replacement cards

You must keep your card for one year. Report lost or stolen cards. A $15 fee may be charged for lost or damaged cards.

Report fraudulent use of a card to library staff or College Safety.

Privacy and personal information

The following personal information is collected from the college’s Colleague system in order to make the card: legal name; date of birth, affiliation with the college, “C” number and where appropriate, U-Pass expiry date.

Personal information collected and used is for the purpose of producing the official personal identification (ID) card for Camosun College. Information on the ID card will be used to verify your identity and for the purpose of administering college services, programs, and activities.

Individuals who obtain a Camosun College ID acknowledge the above and consent to the collection of personal information, including a digital image.

Your personal information is collected in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and college policy. Outside parties are not granted access to personal or account information except where express consent is granted or as authorized by law.
