Notes:

  • Math prerequisites assume the academic version of the courses (unless otherwise noted).
    • Math 10 refers to either Principles of Math 10 or Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-calculus 10.
    • Math 11 refers to either Principles of Math 11 or Pre-calculus 11.
    • Math 12 refers to either Principles of Math 12 or Pre-calculus 12.
  • The Math 11 prerequisite for Business courses (e.g. BUS, ECON, FIN, etc.) may be satisfied with one of:
    • C grade in Principles of Math 11 or Applications of Math 12
    • C+ grade in MATH 072, MATH 075, or MATH 135 (cancelled Sept 2019)
  • You will need a minimum of an A grade in MATH 107 in order to use it as a prerequisite for MATH 100.

English proficiency for program admissions requiring English 12 with a C+

Students may meet the English proficiency requirement with one or more of the following alternatives.

Updates to English Proficiency requirements for January 2020 admissions

Effective January 2020, the English language proficiency requirements for program admission will be changing. Learn more.

Note: IELTS or TOEFL results must be from within the past two years.

  • IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with:
    • minimum of 6.5 in Reading and Writing
    • minimum of 6.0 in Listening and Speaking
  • TOEFL scores:
    • iBT 88-90 (min 20 in each section)
    • CB 230 (min 4.5 TWE)
    • PB 570 (min 4.5 TWE)
  • LPI score of 5 or higher
  • Camosun English assessment

Effective Date: January 2020

IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall (no sub-score less than 6.0)
TOEFL ibt 78 overall (no sub-score less than 19)
LPI 5 or higher
PTE Academic 54 overall (no sub-score less than 50)
Cambridge Assessment of English: C1 Advanced 174 overall (no sub-score less than 169)
CAEL CE 60 overall (no sub-score less than 60)
GTEC CBT 1200 overall (minimum sub-scores: Reading 325; Writing 270; Speaking 260; Listening 335)
