This award is for one or more Nursing, Baccalaureate of Science program students who demonstrate outstanding achievement by the end of year 2 and who have a focus on surgery as a specialty. The recipient must also process the full range of personal skills and attributes found among the very best of nurses. Like Rachel, the award recipient(s) will be a ray of sunshine in a patient’s life.

Most of the awards are given to students on the basis of nomination. You will be selected by your instructors or the chair of the department based on your academic performance, enthusiasm, participation and volunteer or work experience.
