Camosun College’s campuses are OPEN, Wednesday, Feb. 5

Wednesday, Feb. 5, 6:30 a.m. — Camosun’s campuses are OPEN today. Classes and services are scheduled to run as planned.

Grounds crew have been working at Lansdowne and Interurban to spread salt and sand on parking lots, roadways and main walkways as conditions are icy. Please allow extra time when commuting, dress warmly and stay on cleared paths.

Award description

Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) – Saanich award is a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with over 100 CFUW Clubs, located in every province across Canada. Since its founding in 1919, CFUW has been working to improve the status of women and to promote human rights, public education, social justice, and peace. Every year, CFUW and its Clubs award close to $1 million to women to help them pursue post-secondary studies.

This award is available to female Indigenous students who are enrolled in a degree program, or university transfer or a professional studies program. 

Criteria

Criteria

You must:

  • be currently registered as a student at Camosun College in the final year before graduating with a degree or transferring to university
  • have Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or Native American) ancestry
  • have a GPA of 2.5 or equivalent or 3.5 GPA in the most recent semester
  • submit a self-written letter outlining education and employment goals and reason for applying
  • submit a letter of reference from a community member or instructor attesting to your commitment to your studies and career goal
  • complete the application form

You can apply for more than one award using the Eyēʔ Sqȃ’lewen (IECC) awards application form

Please note: If the deadline occurs on a weekend, applications will be accepted until 4pm on the Monday.
