Award description

The Anthany Dawson Justice Award was established in the memory of KwakwaKa'wakw artist, Anthany Dawson, who died, tragically, in 1999.

He was an accomplished Kwakwa Ka'wakw artist, and his passion for life was evident in his artwork. Anthany believed that everyone deserved a fair chance in life and was willing to help people in any way that he could.

This award was established in Anthany’s name to ensure that First Nations people have access to higher education, to enable them to contribute to all professional fields including justice administration, and in celebration of Anthany’s life.
