Attendance at a program information session is highly recommended. The next intake for the Indigenous Family Support program will be September.

Admission requirements

When you apply you will need to submit proof that you meet the following admission requirements.

Tip Where a letter grade is specified, you must have proof of that grade or higher.

Indigenous Ancestry Camosun College views any student who is a descendant of the Indigenous peoples of North America to be an Indigenous student. This includes status and non-status Indians, Métis, Inuit and Native Americans who reside in Canada.

Program notes

Students are strongly encouraged to complete PSYC 154 and ENGL 175 prior to starting the program.

If you are interested in taking this program part-time, you should contact the program leader before applying.

Participation requirements

A criminal record check (CRC), including Vulnerable Sector (VS) search, is a program participation requirement.  You’ll be sent instructions about the CRC process that need to be followed. Criminal record checks done outside the college aren’t accepted. More information.

Completion requirements

You must achieve a minimum of 60% ("C") in all program courses, and successfully complete IFS 120 and IFS 121 to graduate with a Certificate in Indigenous Family Support.
