Salah is a graduate of the University of Victoria, having obtained a PhD. in 2016. His research involved using Piezoelectric sensors and Acoustic Emission Touch Sensing for microscopic measurements. Salah worked for several years as an assistant professor at international universities. Moreover, Salah has extensive experience in industrial automation with international companies. In addition, Salah has been published in the International Journal of Engineering Science.

He has been an instructor in the Mechanical Engineering Technology Department at Camosun, joining the department in the winter of 2018. He typically teaches courses in workshop technology processes, composite materials, welding processes, corrosion, quality control, and computer-aided manufacturing and also supervises second-year capstone projects. In his spare time, he reads widely and enjoys spending time with his family.
