Overview

The Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration - Human Resource Management & Leadership option prepares graduates for professional practice through the application of human resources principles and ethics to all elements of management. Through applied learning opportunities, graduates are well equipped to integrate and strategically apply knowledge of human resource principles to a variety of work environments.

Learners with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, will complete a diploma program in Human Resource Management & Leadership. This program incorporates the majority of key competencies required to pursue a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.

This program is designed for graduates who aspire towards HR leadership or management roles or are employed as HR practitioners. Students in this program are eligible to apply for membership in the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of British Columbia & Yukon (CPHR BC & YK).

Career/Academic Advancement Opportunities

With the Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource Management & Leadership option, career positions may include, but would not be limited to, managing in government or private industry, business consulting, and human resources advising or management. The program also prepares students to write the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) for the nationally recognized Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation

At the completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Support effective human resource management practices by applying organizational policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Apply concepts and principles of effective interpersonal competency to interactions with diverse individuals, groups and organizations.
  • Function in a responsible and accountable manner respecting the legal, moral, and ethical parameters of the HR professional. 
  • Develop leadership skills to support change strategies in achieving organization goals.
