Camosun expresses its sorrow and stands alongside the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc

Camosun College is horrified by the news that the remains of 215 children have been found in the grounds of the former Kamloops Residential School, which sat on the traditional territory of the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc. Our hearts go out to the families and communities who were and are directly affected by this news and by the original loss of their children. We are all affected. This affirms Camosun’s commitment to redressing the impact of our shared history. In memory of these children, Camosun flags on both campuses will be lowered.

Co-op and Internship Awards

Yvonne Thompson Page Co-op/Internship Student of the Year

A top student from each school with a co-op or internship program (Arts & Science, Business, Hospitality & Tourism and Technology) are selected amongst the nominees, with one Camosun student ultimately chosen as the overall Yvonne Thompson Page Co-op/Internship Student of the Year.

The award was established by Yvonne’s friends and colleagues at Camosun, and pays tribute to the energy, enthusiasm, and dedication that Yvonne brought to her position as the co-op coordinator in the Office Administration program. Yvonne touched many people with her vibrant and colourful approach to life.

Top Co-op/Internship student of the year

Dylan Kaplan, a Bachelor of Business Administration student, majoring in Camosun’s Human Resources and Leadership Management program, was selected as the overall winner of the 2020 Yvonne Thompson Page (YTP) Co-op/Internship Student of the Year.

says Camosun President Sherri Bell.

 "Our co-op students continually go above and beyond academic requirements by clearly demonstrating outstanding applied skills and leadership capabilities in their chosen fields."
