Heidi entered the world of professional cooking in 1994, starting in remote camps and working her way up in restaurant kitchens. She earned her Red Seal certification in 2008. She became the Chef of renowned vegetarian restaurant, ReBar Modern Food; she continues to specialize in vegetarian and allergy-free cooking, specifically from cuisines around the world.
Heidi is the owner of an award-winning cooking class business in Victoria, teaching what she knows about world cuisine to thousands of students. She has been thrilled to share her knowledge within the culinary program here at Camosun, and with the students specifically as they take a turn with her on the Camosun student food truck, the Camosun Cuisine Machine!
Heidi’s goal is to inspire culinary students and bring excitement to their learning with interesting recipes, cooking techniques from other cultures, and a down-to-earth teaching style. She is currently working on her Provincial Instructor Diploma.
