Arts & Science Awards

Want financial help for your education?

The School of Arts & Science, in partnership with the Camosun Foundation, offers a series of awards to outstanding students. Awards range from $250 - $2000 with the average being $750 per award. Camosun also offers a wide selection of entrance awards bursaries for full-time students.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must be enrolled in a program within the School of Arts & Science during the current offering or academic calendar year.

All Applications accepted January 1 - April 15.

The School of Arts & Science hosts an annual Awards Ceremony every year, where most of the awards are presented.

The Arts & Science Administration Office will notify recipients of their award/scholarship. Invitations to the Awards Ceremony will be sent out by email.

AS01A The Allen and Loreen Vandekerkhove Family Foundation Science Award

Criteria

You must:
be enrolled in a program within the School of Arts & Science (Area of study – select “Arts & Humanities”, “Natural Sciences”, and “University Transfer”) during the current offering or academic calendar year
submit a statement describing your background, interests, academic program, and career goals (200 words, typed, double-spaced, include your name and C#).

AS02A Camosun International School of Arts & Science Award

Criteria

You must:
be an international student enrolled in a program within the School of Arts & Science (Area of study – select “Arts & Humanities”, “Natural Sciences”, and “University Transfer”) during the current offering or academic calendar year.
submit an essay outlining your studies at Camosun and your future goals

AS03A Fred Hughes Endowed Science Award

Criteria

You must:
be a student going into your second year of either the Associate of Science Degree or UT program, who is a full-time student and carries a minimum of 3 courses in science and/or mathematics per term.
submit a statement describing your background, interests, academic program, and career goals (200 words, typed, double-spaced, include your name and C#).

AS04A Latham Pazdro Women in The World Award

Criteria

You must:
be enrolled in a program within the School of Arts & Science (Area of study – select “Arts & Humanities”, “Natural Sciences”, and “University Transfer”) during the current offering or academic calendar year.
submit a piece of work such as art, a body of creative writing or a unique research essay in which women are the focus. The submission must be a Camosun College School of Arts & Science course assignment completed in the current academic year, submitted with the instructor's original class assignment, include your name and C#.

Associate Degree Arts & Science Awards

AS05A Colin Montesano Memorial Associate Degree Award

Criteria

You must:
be a mature student enrolled in Associate Degree program.
have been away from formal academic studies for at least three years prior to attending Camosun College.
be returning to complete your second year at Camosun and have completed at least two Psychology or two Math courses with a minimum grade point average of 7 or above (A-).
submit a statement describing your background, interests, academic program, and career goals (200 words, typed, double-spaced, include your name and C#). Two awards granted per year.
